Week 4 Lenten Smoothie

The ingredients for Old Faithful ran out and I was on the hunt yesterday for a new recipe. Something totally different and sans the drama of greens. I made one such smoothie last week, but didn't like it at all. My ratios were certainly off and I don't know enough about ratios not made for my blender to improvise. In case you're wondering, I drank it anyway.

A good friend of mine recommended I look for concoctions supported by my blender and that way I wouldn't go wrong. So here is today and tomorrow's smoothie because I only have two oranges. This one's on easy and has just 4 ingredients. It's antioxidant, potassium and vitamin C rich.

The next recipe is already cued up:

Orange, Banana, Blueberry Smoothie

3/4 cup water

1 medium orange peeled, halved

1 small banana, peeled, frozen

1/2 cup frozen unsweetened blueberries

Assemble in this order and blend, starting low and then moving to high speed, or just use the smoothie setting if you have a Vitamix.
