And just like that, Fall has arrived. Just a few weeks ago, I was celebrating the carefree ways of summer. Longer days became noticeably shorter, and swampy, storm filled evenings have turned crisp. Each day since September began has been filled with a business unlike the summertime, and the shift in energy is not only around me, but within me. There are multiple factors driving the shift that are propelling me into a different way of being.
As of late, I’m inspired by the poetry of a friend and have grown to appreciate how this art form expresses deeper manifestations of thought. My vata dosha won’t permit me to become embroiled in the technical requirements of poetry, but I enjoy composing it nonetheless.
Though the season hasn’t officially changed,
My soul seems to know that a shift is in order.
From the way I eat, sleep, think and work,
To the ways that I don’t.
Everything has begun to Fall -
Into a rhythm of industry and diligent preparation
For Winter.
